Which training program should you follow at McFIT?
Studios often open around the clock, a low-cost membership, classic strength equipment: McFIT is a great place to train seriously. What is missing is the week-by-week structured plan. That is what a PDF program is for.
Yes, you can follow a real training program at McFIT, and the round-the-clock opening of most studios is a rare asset: your session fits your schedule, not the other way around.
McFIT is a German low-cost gym chain owned by the RSG Group, and Germany's largest chain by membership. At our last check (August 2026), the brand runs over 230 studios across Germany, Italy and Austria, with membership in the range of 20 to 30 euros per month depending on the offer. Most studios are open 24/7, with local variations. The chain also operated in Spain until its Spanish studios were sold to Basic-Fit, a deal completed in early 2024.
This guide covers the equipment you will find, the PDF programs that make the most of it, and how to handle the crowds.
The typical equipment in a McFIT studio
McFIT studios are strength-focused: guided machines, cable stations, dumbbells, barbells, benches and free-weight stations, plus a cardio area. As in any chain, exact equipment varies from studio to studio depending on floor space: the number of racks, or the presence of a Smith machine or hack squat, is not guaranteed everywhere. Walk your studio floor before you start.
That baseline is exactly what our gym programs ask for: nothing beyond machines, cables, barbells and dumbbells, with written alternatives when a station is missing.
Which PDF programs to run at McFIT
Depending on your level and goal:
- Foundations: nine weeks of full body work over three sessions, the ideal entry point in an equipped gym.
- Foundational Strength: twelve weeks built around the squat, bench press and deadlift; it needs a barbell and a gym, the core of a McFIT studio.
- Cutting & Definition: nine weeks over four sessions to lose fat while keeping muscle.
- PPL: six sessions a week; precisely the format that benefits most from a studio that never closes.
Every gym-compatible plan is in the gym programs.
The 24/7 advantage: train in the quiet hours
A studio that never closes changes how you schedule. The busy slots are the same everywhere: lunchtime and after work on weekdays, Monday above all. But at McFIT you can aim for early morning, late evening or even the night if that is your rhythm: slots where the racks are free and a session takes twenty minutes less, with no waiting.
That is especially valuable for a six-day split like PPL: high frequency becomes sustainable when the schedule is never an obstacle. Just note that on-site staff hours are concentrated on more conventional daytime slots.
Station taken: substitutions worth knowing
At peak hours, the station you wanted is sometimes taken. Our PDFs include equivalent alternatives for every exercise: leg press or goblet squat instead of the barbell squat, dumbbell press instead of the bench press, cable row instead of the barbell row. You apply the plan B that is already written instead of waiting.
To recalibrate the load on a substitute exercise, the 1RM calculator starts from a set you already own. And if you are comparing European low-cost chains, our Basic-Fit guide complements this one.
What a PDF adds on top of the chain's own options
The McFIT ecosystem offers its own training content, useful for discovering the studio. A coach-written PDF program answers a different need: a single multi-week plan, with exercises, sets, reps, written progression and alternatives per exercise. You know exactly what to do when you walk in, and the document is yours for life, in any studio.

Does McFIT provide a training plan?
The membership gives you access to the studio's equipment and the chain offers its own training content. A coach-written PDF program is a different tool: a plan structured over several weeks, with written progression and alternatives per exercise, followed at your own pace.
Are McFIT studios really open 24/7?
Most of them are, with local variations: check your own studio's hours. Round-the-clock opening makes high-frequency splits such as PPL much easier to sustain, since the schedule stops being an obstacle. On-site staff hours remain concentrated on daytime slots.
Can you run a strength program at McFIT?
Yes, provided your studio has a barbell and a station to squat in, which is common but varies between studios. Our strength PDFs include alternatives, such as the leg press or the Smith machine, when a station is missing or occupied.
Does McFIT still operate in Spain?
No: the RSG Group sold its Spanish studios to Basic-Fit, in a deal completed in early 2024. The former McFIT studios in Spain now operate under the Basic-Fit brand. Our programs work in both networks, since the equipment baseline is the same.
Independent page: McFIT is not a partner or affiliate of GymDB. Facts about the chain come from public sources, checked in August 2026; equipment varies from club to club.
